Who is the course suitable for?
New and experienced Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) (previously known as Parking Attendants) needing to attain a Nationally recognised qualification. This qualification is recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) as a National Qualification suitable for Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking). As such it appears on the National Database of Accredited Qualifications. The qualification is recommended by the Secretary of State’s Statutory Guidance.
Prerequisites
All candidates must pass a basic skills check, prior to the course to ensure that they have a minimum level of numeracy and literacy. Suitable experience and qualifications to undertake a course of shorter duration (see above).
What does the course cover?
The City and Guilds 1889 Level 2 Certificate for Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking), sponsored by the British Parking Association, replaces the 1885 Level 2 Certificate for Parking Attendants, to reflect the changes introduced by part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004. The Conflict Management Unit is essentially the same as the 1884 Level 2 Certificate in Conflict Management (Non SIA).
This qualification now comprises two units delivered and tested over 5 days* as follows:
- Unit 1: The Roles and Responsibilities of a Civil Enforcement Officer (Parking)
- Unit 2: Conflict Management
- GOLA: One hour 40 question multiple choice exam testing Unit 1
- GOLA: one hour 40 question multiple choice exam testing Unit 2
*Note course duration is dependent on previous qualifications & experience.
