Who is the course suitable for?

The qualification is suitable for anyone who is working or would like to work as a Public Space Surveillance CCTV operator. This includes Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) operating CCTV enforcement vehicles for the issue of Penalty Charge Notices.

Prerequisites

All candidates must pass a basic skills check, prior to the course to ensure that they have a minimum level of numeracy and literacy.

What does the course cover?

The qualification covers the various areas of knowledge required of a CCTV operator practising within the Public Space Surveillance industry. The achievement of this qualification will provide assurance that a CCTV professional has the essential knowledge required to do their job effectively. This award is approved by the SIA and will help prospective operators to obtain their Licence to Practise within the Public Space Surveillance industry. The qualification comprises the following units.

• Unit 1: Roles and responsibilities of the CCTV operator
• Unit 2: CCTV surveillance techniques
• Assignment: Using CCTV Control Room / SMART Car
• GOLA: One & a half hour 60 question multiple choice exam
