Who is the course suitable for?

The qualification is aimed at people who have an interest in maintaining safety within their community. It is suitable for those who work or want to work in some of the following roles: community wardens; neighbourhood wardens; community support workers; civil enforcement officers; park rangers etc

Prerequisites

All candidates must pass a basic skills check, prior to the course to ensure that they have a minimum level of numeracy and literacy.

What does the course cover?

The qualification covers the various areas of knowledge required by an Accredited Person employed in a community safety role. This qualification covers various topics including diversity and discrimination issues in the community. To achieve the qualification, candidates must complete the following four core units:

  • Unit 1: Roles and responsibilities of accredited persons
  • Unit 2: Solving problems and dealing with emergencies in the community
  • Unit 3: Crime and incident management in the community
  • Unit 4: Conflict Management
  • GOLA: one hour multiple choice exam testing Units 1-3
  • GOLA: one hour multiple choice exam testing Unit 4
