Who is the course suitable for?
The course is particularly suitable for school leavers over the age of 18 or those new to the workplace. It is suitable for any employee requiring a basic grounding in essential workplace health and safety issues. Successful completion of this course provides accreditation for Unit 2 of 9 units, leading to the nationally recognised Level 2 Certificate in Health & Safety in the Workplace.
Unit two ensures learners maintain safe working conditions and safe working systems.
Prerequisites
All candidates must pass a basic skills check, prior to the course to ensure they have a minimum level of numeracy and literacy.
What does the course cover?
The course comprises five sessions as set out below. The course is delivered by means of lectures and interactive workshops.
- Outcome 1: Understand the need to work in a safe area
- Outcome 2: Ensure the safe use of work equipment and comply with instructions relating to its safe use
- Outcome 3: Recognise when portable electrical equipment must not be used
- Outcome 4: Understand the requirements for healthy and safe use of display screen equipment
- Unit Two: Assignment
