Who is the course suitable for?
The course is particularly suitable for school leavers over the age of 18 or those new to the workplace. It is suitable for any employee requiring a basic grounding in essential workplace health and safety issues. Successful completion of this course provides accreditation for Unit 3 of 9 units, leading to the nationally recognised Level 2 Certificate in Health & Safety in the Workplace.
Unit three gives an understanding on how to control and monitor risk in the Workplace.
Prerequisites
All candidates must pass a basic skills check, prior to the course to ensure they have a minimum level of numeracy and literacy.
What does the course cover?
The course comprises five sessions as set out below. The course is delivered by means of lectures and interactive workshops.
- Outcome 1: Recognise potential hazards
- Outcome 2: Recognise risks associated with specific hazards
- Outcome 3: Understand when risk has or can be eliminated
- Outcome 4: Identify suitable control measures if risks cannot be eliminated
- Unit Three: Assignment
